Fluminense midfielder Jean has admitted that he is living a dream after receiving his first ever call-up to the Brazil national team for the upcoming Superclassico das Americas fixture with Argentina.

Jean, 26, joined Fluminense earlier in 2012, having spent his entire professional career at São Paulo and has reaped the benefits, winning a second Brasileirão title and now, a call-up to the national team.

“When I heard that I had been called-up, I was elated,” Jean told Lancenet. “I was immediately reminded of a lesson from my father, Moisés Moreira: he always told me that he would never accept a club releasing me due to indiscipline.

“I took this conversation forward in life and it has helped me to be the player that I am today, responsible both on and off the pitch and with a huge desire to win.

“I am realising a dream that I have had since childhood. I will say that this will always be a special day in my life. I am grateful to Fluminense – they believed that I could be useful.”
