Gilberto Silva believes experienced Brazil stars could ease pressure on Neymar
Former Arsenal midfielder Gilberto Silva believes that the inclusion of experienced players such as Kaká, Elano and Maicon in Brazil's national team will ease the pressure on young forward Neymar.
The 20-year-old Santos star has been said to carry the Seleção on occasions and Silva believes that the young attacker would be helped by having experienced Brazil stars alongside him to ease the pressure.
He said: "The quality Neymar has can be decisive and that’s how it should be. He’s only 20 and even so he’s able to drive the team to victory, which is great.
"I reckon he handles that role very well, because of how much confidence he has. But the pressure on him is huge, and it would help to have some more experienced players around to take the focus off him."
Kaká recently returned to the international fold after a two-year absence and Silva thinks at that the Real Madrid playmaker's presence in particular will help Neymar.
Gilberto Silva added: "Of course I don’t know what goes on in the Seleção on a day-to-day basis but, from the outside looking in, I’d suggest bringing in Kaká.
"Elano too has rediscovered his best form and could play a part, and I’d say the same about Maicon."
Grêmio head coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo recently confirmed that the former Brazil international, who has more than 90 caps, has signed a pre-contract with Atlético Mineiro ahead of next season.
The Seleção are currently preparing for an international friendly with Colombia taking place in New Jersey next week.
