Manchester United’s Brazilian duo of Rafael and Anderson both played a part in the Red Devils’ 3-2 win over Aston Villa, having succesfully fought back from 2-0 down.

It was Mexican forward Javier Hernandez, though, would prove the hero for the visitors, having been denied a hat-trick only by the awarding of his second effort to the own-goals column in cancelling out Andreas Weimann’s early brace.

Full-back Rafael played the entire 90 minutes for Sir Alex Ferguson’s side and assisted the Mexican for the goal that would ultimately go against the name of Villa defender Ron Vlaar. Although not his best game of the season, the Brazil international will be pleased with his showing in Birmingham.

Midfielder Anderson was limited to a late substitute appearance in place of injured forward Wayne Rooney and showed glimpses of the ball-carrying ability that he offers the side in attacking areas. With the side overrun in the centre of the park for the opening hour, the former Porto man will be hopeful of a first-team place following the international break.
