FIFA confirm Brazil's six host cities for 2013 Confederations Cup
The governing body had previously announced six cities as hosts for the tournament, including Belo Horizonte, Brasilia, Fortaleza and Rio de Janeiro.
However, north-eastern cities Recife and Salvador would only be ratified if they showed significant improvement in their preparations.
Brazil's local organising committee had until this month to convince FIFA that their stadiums would be ready in time for next year's competition, which is a warm up for the 2014 World Cup.
José Maria Marin, president of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), announced: "For the first time, this competition will be organised in six cities of the same country.
"We have made a commitment to perform at least two test events, which will give us knowledge and experience in transportation, security, access, infrastructure for press and all that is needed to welcome the public.
"Moreover, our team of technical experts, engineers and architects, will intensify the monitoring of the work."
The Confederations Cup will be played June 15-30 among the six continental champions, including Italy, Japan, Mexico, Uruguay and Tahiti, as well as World Cup winners Spain and hosts Brazil.
The draw for the tournament will take place in São Paulo on December 1 and the first of approximately 830,000 tickets will go on sale November 21.
All ticket categories, including category 4 which are exclusively reserved for Brazilian residents, will go on sale December 3.
