After his side’s comprehensive 5-0 victory over Universidad de Chile in the quarter-finals of the Copa Sudamericana, Luis Fabiano insists that São Paulo are closing on the success they so badly crave.

Luis Fabiano, who turns 32 today (Thursday), scored in the win at the Morumbi on Wednesday night and has netted a total of 30 goals in 39 fixtures in 2012.

With São Paulo now set for a semi-final appearance later this month, the former Sevilla striker believes that the side are coming good at the right time to achieve their aims and finish the season with a long-awaited trophy.

“The fans sense that our time is coming,” he told Lancenet. “At the beginning, we suffered a lot. We lost championships, but everything is moving towards a happy ending.

“We have been working on becoming more fluid, to get better and to correct our mistakes. Everything is going in our favour, the timing is very good.”
