A Neymar hat trick inspired Santos to a 4-0 win over fellow midtable side Cruzeiro. The match proved to be a fiesty one as eight yellow cards were handed out.

Neymar opened his account for the evening in the 12th minute. The Santos star added another just before the break before Felipe Anderson made it 3-0. Neymar then put the game beyond doubt with his hat trick goal in the 82nd minute.

A late André Lima goal secured the three points for Grêmio as they continue to secure a place in next season’s Copa Libertadores after a 1-0 win against Ponte Preta.

Lima’s winner in injury time came courtesy of veteran midfielder Zé Roberto’s assist as Grêmio extended the gap to five points ahead of São Paulo in fourth.

A solitary second half goal from Hernane proved to be the difference in Flamengo’s 1-0 win against relegation battlers Figueirense.
