Shakhtar forward Alex Teixeira is enjoying life in Ukraine, having already hit double figures for goals this campaign, and is beginning to dream of a future with the Seleção.
Alex, 22, joined Shakhtar for €6 million from Vasco in 2010, and after a gradual adaptation to Ukranian football, has been reaping the fruits of his labour in recent months as the goals flow in his direction.
Always a promising youngster, Alex has developed a consistency of end-product that has drawn plaudits from afar and recently was the subject of great praise for his display against Chelsea in the Champions League.
“Every player dreams of a call-up and I am no different,” Alex told Lance. “I’m going through a great phase of my career, with my team-mates, and I hope this is recognised by Mano Menezes.
“He has called Giuliano from Dnipro – at least this shows that he is considering Brazilians here in Ukraine. It’s great to be helping Shakhtar with goals and good performances. With confidence, things become easier.”
