Out of favour Lucio is set to be shown the door in the January transfer window according to reports in Italy.

Gazetta dello Sport reports that the Brazilian is set to have showdown talks with the Juventus board regarding his playing situation.

The 34-year-old has been on the fringes of Antonio Conte’s squad, only featuring three times this season.

The former Seleção centre back is competing with notable Italian defenders Giorgio Chiellini, Leonardo Bonucci and Andrea Barzagli for a place in the first team.

Lucio joined Juventus after previous employers Inter cancelled the World Cup winner’s contract after three years at the club, originally signing in 2009 from Bayern Munich.

Internacional were rumoured to be interested in their former player, who has won 105 caps for Brazil, before Juventus swooped, and they could be set to revive their interest once more.

A return to Brazil could be a possiblity as the veteran defender looks to wind down his career.
