Botafogo midfielder Gabriel says club depend on Clarence Seedorf
Botafogo midfielder Gabriel believes the club will miss the influence of injured Dutch star Clarence Seedorf while the player is out injured.
Seedorf, 36, has been superb since joining the Rio giants and has impressed everyone at the club with the passion and commitment he has displayed for his new club. He has immediately become a leader of the team and Gabriel revealed to Lancenet that he, and his teammates, have come to depend on the former AC Milan star.
He said: "One can not say how much he will be missed as he is a great player. I confess that I depend on him a bit, but who will come in will do their best. They will get the job done, we have to say that our group has quality."
The two players have also grown close off the field and the volante is keen to see his friend back on the pitch.
"He is very knowledgeable and has helped me a lot. Because Seedorf talks a lot, and I get many important tips from him to know my position," he added.
