Corinthians could land Wolfsburg midfielder Andres D’Alessandro.

It had been thought Corinthians’ financial partner MSI were keen on the Argentine superstar who is currently starring in the German Bundesliga.

“MSI never say anything about negotiations or a transfer unless the player signs a contract with us,” explained MSI director Kia Joorabchian.

The Argentian Corinthians coach Daniel Passarella has stated the club do need to strengthen their squad, but hinted reinforcing their midfield is not a priority.

“Corinthians needs at least three signings but I don’t see the midfield as the priority,” said Passarella.

“I think it’s more important to have a new goalkeeper, a central defender and a striker.”
