Santos defender Bruno Peres: Neymar wants to win

Santos' Bruno Peres has dismissed concerns over teammate Neymar's outburst by claiming that the player wants to win at all costs.

The rightback told reporters: "Neymar has a winning mentality as does the coach. He acquired it over time and it helps us play our best football and win.

"The fact that he is young does not change anything, because he is one of the leaders in the Seleção. We have great respect for Neymar, because he is one of the best players in Brazil and the world. Today, he is one of our leaders and he has a lot of responsiblity."

The defender insisted that the team needed to do everything they can to help Neymar: "The team has always looked for him, because he is a great player that decides matches. But we have to help, we know he is a spectacular kid who makes brilliant plays.

"But we always expect a lot from him. I think that overwhelms him a bit, but we have to support him. We will improve as the competition goes on."

Neymar criticised his teammates last week, stating that they relied on him far too much after the 1-1 draw against Náutico.
