Miranda believes Atlético Madrid teammate Falcao deserves FIFA Ballon d'Or
Atlético Madrid defender Miranda believes Radamel Falcao is one of the best players in the world and deserves to win the FIFA Ballon d'Or.
Falcao, 26, has already netted 13 goals in nine official appearances for Atlético this term.
The Colombia international continued his fine vein of form by scoring the clinching goal in Sunday's 3-1 win over Osasuna at the Estadio Vicente Calderon.
Miranda, who was also on the scoresheet, feels his team-mate deserves the Ballon d'Or award as recognition for his impressive goalscoring record.
He said: "To me, Messi and Falcao are the best around.
"Radamel keeps on scoring in every game, so I think he should be considered for the Ballon d'Or."
Falcao is one of 23 players shortlisted for the prestigious award, which will be awarded in Zurich on January 7 next year.
Atlético are currently joint-top of La Liga with Barcelona, following their eighth successive win, but Miranda says it is too early to be predicting where Los Colchoneros will finish this season.
He added: "When there is not much left in the season it will be time to see where we are in the standings.
"We can see then if we are in the running for trophies or qualifying for the Champions League. At the moment we are just thinking about each game.
"We have a very good squad, with great players who would be undisputed starters in other teams."
