Paulinho: This Brazil team can make history
Corinthians midfielder Paulinho has forced himself into Brazil national team coach Mano Menezes thoughts over the past year after impressive performances in his clubs Brasileirão and Copa Libertadores success, and now the player believes this current generation can emulate that of past golden eras.
Paulinho, 24, has scored twice in his 6 games so far for the Seleção and part of the reason he stayed with his current club was to not unsettle his form in the lead up to the World Cup in Brazil in 2014.
As hosts there will be huge pressure on Brazil at the tournament in 2 years time, but the player told Lancenet that he believes this team can go all the way.
"This generation has built a history, that we can now be build on. Several players like David Luiz, Daniel Alves, Thiago Silva, Kaka assume this responsibility, but I think not only the experienced players can do this, but the younger ones too, regardless of names.
"It's a party and everyone must play their part. We can build another generation victorious like that of Ronaldo, Roberto Carlos ......"
