A Lucas Moura hat trick helped São Paulo to a 4-2 victory over Sport Recife after going a goal down thanks to a Gilberto opener. A Rivaldo own goal rounded out the four goal blitz before a Hugo penalty in the dying stages gave Sport Recife a consolation goal.
Grêmio were held to a 1-1 draw by strugglers Bahia after Kléber cancelled out a Gabriel opener in the first half for the away side.
Goals from Fred and Rafael Moura heaped more misery on Palmeiras as their ambitions to escape the relegation zone took a big blow as Internacional ran out 2-1 winners. Luan gave the relegation candidates the lead in the first half before Internacional took control.
