He is the latest arrival in the Chelsea midfield, but that has not stopped Oscar from setting himself some ambitious goalscoring targets for the year to come.

Oscar, 21, arrives at a side who are used to seeing goals supplied from midfield, with Frank Lampard one of Europe’s most lethal midfield marksmen in his time.

Now, with Lampard ageing and Spanish striker Fernando Torres struggling for form once more, Chelsea are looking to the midfield for goals more than ever and Oscar is ready to hit double figures in his first season to help out.

Oscar told The Sun: “I have been a midfielder who is a regular goalscorer and scoring 20 in a season was normal for me.

“I know it could be a bit more difficult in England because you are not playing all the time and you play in different positions.

“But I do expect to score many goals for Chelsea and I hope to keep the average of between 10 to 20 goals a season, that would be good.”
