Flamengo fail to pay wages and offer no guarantee of quick solution
Flamengo have confirmed that they are yet to pay wages to their staff from September due to a lack of current funds and admit they are not sure when money will become available.
The latest episode in Flamengo's far from illustrious financial saga is reported in Lancenet! who state that the club's vice director of finance Michel Levy informed staff by SMS of the latest update.
Levy has, though, since declined to reveal to the newspaper how the club intends to manage the affair, considering it an "internal matter".
It is also yet to be explained why the club have failed to submit their balance sheet for the first half of the year, which was expected on October 22 - as the club had promised to do just one week earlier.
Flamengo's financial situation has become an ongoing soap-opera in recent times, from not paying Ronaldinho in his final months at the club, to offering to pay Vagner Love's transfer fee in several years of instalments, as well as the ongoing failure to settle the club's debt to Romario - who last played for the club in 1999.
