Santos need Chelsea to help fund Malouda - report

According to English newspaper Daily Mirror, Santos will make an attempt to sign out-of-favour Chelsea midfielder Florent Malouda in January.
However, the report suggests that any deal would be dependent on the Blues paying a proportion of the former Les Bleus star's wages - with Santos unable to meet the player's demands.
It is thought that Malouda, whose with is Brazilian and who was born in French Guiana, would be open to a move to Brazilian football and has previously held talks with Vasco da Gama over the possibility of a transfer.
The move would rival Botafogo's capture of Clarence Seedorf earlier this year as the biggest transfer in the history of Brazilian football, with both transfers heavily influenced by the players' respective backgrounds.
At Chelsea, Malouda currently receives £80,000 a week and whilst Santos would not be expected to match that figure, the suggestion is that they would still need help from the selling club to match the Frenchman's demands.
