Shakhtar Donetsk’s Willian hailed the 2-1 victory over Chelsea but urged his teammates not to rest on their laurels for the rest of their Champions League campaign.

The Brazilian, 24, told reporters after the match: “It was a very important result. We knew it would be a very difficult game, but we got focused, knowing what we needed to do so we won a great victory.”

The forward also revealed that they did not treat Chelsea any differently to teams back in Ukraine: “Our team played the same way as we have been playing in the Ukrainian league, keeping the ball, hitting the opponents on the break and creating many chances to score goals.

“We analyzed their team well before the game and we did everything that was planned.”

Willian urged his teammates not to become complacent after the victory: “We are doing well in the group and it depends on us now. But we cannot be soft, we have to keep our feet on the ground and know that it is not over yet. We have to keep playing that way to win the group.”

Shakhtar will be facing Chelsea again in their next Champions League fixture, this time at Stamford Bridge in London.
