Uefa Champions League: Brazilians in action
The Uefa Champions League returns this week with games across Tuesday and Wednesday which will feature a host of Brazilians in action.
Here is a breakdown of who is playing for their respective teams on Tueday night:
FC Nordsjælland v Juventus - Former Bayern Munich and Inter central defender Lucio starts tonight for Juventus.
Shakhtar Donetsk v Chelsea - The Ukrainians include Fernandinho, Alex Teixeira, Willian and Luiz Adriano, with Eduardo, Douglas Costa and Ilsinho on the bench. The European champions start with David Luiz, Ramires and Oscar.
Bate Borisov v Valencia - Renan Bressan, who is now a full Belarusian international, starts on the bench for Bate Borisov. For Valencia, former Atlético Mineiro keeper Diego Alves will start in goal.
Lille v Bayern Munich - 27-year-old Tulio de Melo starts in attack from Lille, while new Bayern signing Dante starts at centre back for the German giants, who also have Rafinha and Luiz Gustavo on the bench.
Spartak Moscow 2 Benfica 1 - The early kick off finished 2-1 to the Russian side who had Rafael Carioca and Ari in their starting line-up, with Welliton on the bench. Benfica started the game with Artur Moraes, Jardel, Lima and Rodrigo on the pitch. All the goals in the game came from Brazilian players as Rafael Carioca opened the scoreing for the home side before Lima pulled Benfica level. The game was decided by an own goal by defender Jardel just before half-time.
Barcelona v Celtic - The Catalan giants start the game with Adriano at right back in place of the injured Dani Alves.
Galatasaray v CFR Cluj - Felipe Melo starts in central midfield for Galatasaray, who also have Cris on the bench. Cluj start the game with Luís Alberto and Rafael Bastos.
Manchester United v Sporting Braga - Manchester United have Rafael da Silva at right back and Anderson on the bench. Braga include Leandro Salino, Paulo Vinícius and Alan from the start and on the bench have Mossoró, Michel and Baiano.
