Grêmio midfielder Fernando hoping for change of 'spirit' in Copa Sul-Americana

Grêmio go into the second leg of their Copa Sul-Americana round of 16 second tie with a 1-0 lead against Barcelona (EQU), but know they will have to improve on their recent jittery Brasileirão form if they are to progress to the next round.
Grêmio midfielder Fernando, 20, believes that the return fixture in the Olímpico will be a tricky fixture, particularly due to the different style of play from theEcuadorians.
He told Lancenet: "It will be a tricky game. We played a style a little different than we have been experiencing in Brazil. Physically strong team, playing with three defenders and played for set pieces. So we can not provide it for them.
"Working in our stadium, in front of our fans, we have to impose our rhythm."
The winner of this tie will go through to play either Palmeiras or Millonarios of Columbia, but Fernando says they wont take Barcelona lightly.
"In South American teams face different styles. It's gotten a little more. Sometimes, you have to fight. In others, you have to use the experience, as we have achieved victory in Ecuador. We need to incorporate the spirit of competition to make a good game to win again and go through."
