Sevilla defender Cicinho scored the winning goal for his side last night after the Rojiblancos came back twice to beat Real Mallorca 3-2.

The Brazilian right-back scored a deflected volley from the edge of the box, which bounced into the bottom corner with goalkeeper Dudu Aouate frozen still, to seal the three points.

However, the Andalusian hosts seemed destined for more misery, following two defeats, when Pedro Bigas put Mallorca ahead on 26 minutes.

Sevilla made it 1-1 three minutes later when Alvaro Negredo launched a powerful but precise finish into the top left corner, but the visitors restored their lead almost immediately.

Tomer Hemed slotted home following another assist from half-Brazilian Giovani dos Santos, who was making his debut, to leave the visitors 2-1 up at the interval.

Negredo completed his brace ten minutes after the break, when he powered in a header from Cicinho’s nicely weighted cross.

Sevilla began to assert their dominance over the visitors and Michel’s side eventually went ahead in the 75th minute, thanks to the former Palmeiras man.

The result moved Sevilla into fifth in La Liga with 14 points from eight games, equal with champions Real Madrid in fourth.
