Saint-Étienne legend Robert Herbin praises Brandão

Former Saint-Étienne manager Robert Herbin has praised Brandão’s physical qualities following the striker’s goal in his side’s 1-1 draw with Nice on Saturday.
The 32-year-old Brazilian, who has scored four goals in three starts, equalised for Les Verts in the 75th minute, to cancel out Éric Bauthéac’s earlier goal.
Brandão has been complimented by Saint-Étienne legend Herbin, who played for the club for 15 years before taking their vacant managerial role at the age of 33, which he held for 11 years.
The 73-year-old, who still attends all of his former side’s games, believes the Brazilian striker’s physical stature benefits his teammates.
He said: "He has shown once again he could be a very dangerous striker.
"He is able to immobilise the central defense, which frees up space for his teammates."
The Greens are currently tenth in Ligue 1, after nine games, and have only lost one of their last seven games.
Their next game is a visit from Rennes on Friday, where Brandão will be hoping to continue his good goalscoring form for Christophe Galtier’s side.
