Atlético Mineiro's Leonardo Silva: We deserved the victory

Atlético Mineiro defender Leonardo Silva spoke of his delight at scoring the winner in his team's 3-2 win over title leaders Fluminense.

Leonardo, 33, told reporters about the moment he scored the decisive goal: "I saw that at the very end we would have a chance, so I went into the penalty area and, with a great pass from Ronaldinho, I was fortunate to score the goal and keep Atlético in the fight."

The defender thought his team were deserving of the victory: "Without a doubt it is difficult to find words. We left here with a deserved victory. We played very well, we imposed our rhythm from the first minute and we won by more goals."

Atlético Mineiro will now face Flamengo on Wednesday as they prepare to continue their title chase with just six games left to play in the Brasileirão.

The team are now just six points behind title leaders Fluminense.
