Paris Saint-Germain have announced that their Brazilian midfielder Nenê received surgery on Saturday night to repair two fractures suffered to the right side of the frontal bone in his face. The injury happened when the player clash with fellow Brazilian Diego in PSG’s 1-0 league victory over Reims.

The club has not said when the player will be back in action but he looks to be out of this weeks Champions League tie against Dinamo Zagreb. In an email to Globo Esporte, Nenê said he had never felt pain like it.

He wrote: “Broke in two places. I had the operation overnight and everything went well, thank God. I leave the hospital tomorrow (Monday) at noon.

“I’m out of pain now, but yesterday (Saturday) was horrible. Never felt pain like it.”

Nenê, 31, has one year left on his contract at the Parc des Princes and is rumoured to be looking for a return to Brazil, with a number of clubs already expressing interest in the winger.
