Fluminense striker Fred is the 'King of Rio' reports Lancenet

Fluminense captain Fred has been in sensational form once again this season in leading his team to the top of the Brasileirão with 7 games remaining, and a report in Lancenet on Sunday believes this can be put down to his happiness off the field, labeling the striker 'The king of Rio'.
Fred, 28, moved to Fluminense in 2009 after his spell in France with Lyon had turned sour, despite a promising few years in Europe. The striker chose to live in Ipanema and can often be seen hitting the beach at Posto 9 and out and about in the local bars, mixing with supporters.
"Fred likes to sit in a bar with to talk with friends and flirt,” said Leandro Lima, a friend of the striker, and an employee in a local bar spoke of how Fred "is very affectionate with fans. Signs the shirts and is ready to joke and have conversation."
Sunday will see Fred return to another city where he feels at home, Belo Horizonte. A place where he spent the early part of his career with América Mineiro and then Cruzerio and a victory against the city's third team, Atlético Mineiro, would take Fluminense a step closer to another Brasileirão title, their second in 3 years, and make Fred even a bigger legend in his adopted home.
