Brasileirão: Palmeiras overcome Cruzeiro for second straight win

The first half passed without incident and the game came alive in the second half when Argentinean striker Hernán Barcos skipped past the fullback and chipped a shot over the keeper to put the home side 1-0 up.
The second goal came ten minutes later after a Obina freekick was powerfully headed home by Barcos for his second goal of the evening.
The number nine was mobbed by his fellow teammates, substitutes and coaching staff as Palmeiras ran out 2-0 winners over a poor Cruzeiro side.
The win will be a huge boost to their hopes of avoiding relegation as Bahia could only draw against Corinthians meaning Palmeiras are now only four points off safety.
Palmeiras will now face Millionarios on Tuesday in their Copa Sudamericana campaign before travelling to Internacional on Saturday.
Cruzeiro are left to lick their wounds in ninth place and will face Ponte Preta on Friday.
