The 27-year-old midfielder will come face to face with the Rossoneri this evening, who he could have been playing for this season according to reports.
However, the Seleção international, who has been capped eight times, has dismissed claims he was considering leaving the capital club.
He told: "There have been a lot of rumours, but I never spoke with Milan. I was at no point close to joining them.
"I am very happy with life at Lazio. I have always said that I enjoy life here in Rome."
Hernanes also suggested that his side, who are third in Serie A, could struggle against 11th-placed Milan.
"Are we favourites against Milan? There should be no illusions about this, Milan are Milan, and this has not changed. They are a team full of great players," he added.
This evening's match at the Stadio Olimpico kicks off at 19:45 BST.
