PSV chief: We were interested in Spurs outcast Heurelho Gomes
PSV have admitted to enquiring about Tottenham Hotspur outcast Heurelho Gomes in the summer but a move collapsed due to the asking price.
PSV's Technical Director Marcel Brands admitted the club were interested in the Brazilian goalkeeper: "We have seriously looked at this and were interested in him.
"But it was his salary demands and his asking price of €9m which were unattainable."
The goalkeeper spent four years at the Philips Stadium helping the Eindhoven club to four successive Eredivisie titles after signing from Cruzeiro.
Gomes, 31, signed for Tottenham in 2008 for a fee of £7.8m and played as the club's first choice keeper for several years despite several high profile mistakes.
The Brazilian has found himself on the fringes of the squad as manager Andre Villas Boas brought in French keeper Hugo Lloris to compete with current number one Brad Friedel.
Gomes made 11 appearances for the Seleção, the last of which came in 2010.
