Menezes slams critics over friendlies
The Seleção coach told the press conference: "Go tell the opponents that they are not as strong. I always say that when the team wins as well. What makes me happier is that we are playing well against strong opponents.
"Not only the movement for the goals but the amount of chances we are creating and we hit the woodwork twice."
The coach also took the time to praise opponents Japan for their strong showing: "I saw a Japanese team cause us a lot of trouble. They created opportunities early and set out to attack.
"They are one of the teams who should be in the 2014 World Cup. It makes me happy that we played a strong opponent."
Menezes believes that the team is starting to gel and told the players to keep improving: "We are getting closer than I thought. Scoring ten goals is not normal. What is more important is that we make enough chances to score ten goals.
"We have improved our reading of the game and the result is what we are seeing."
