Relegation candidates Atlético GO shocked opponents Internacional with a stunning 3-1 victory at the Estádio do Governo do Estado de Goiás in the Brasileirão.
Internacional took the lead though Fred after 15 minutes and seemed set for a comfortable victoy against the strugglers but Atlético came out fighting in the second half.
A comeback was started as Adriano Lara struck in the 55th minute which followed up by a Ricardo Bueno strike and Luciano completed the victory in the 75th minute.
This marked the end of five stright defeats for the home side but it does not change their situation as they still lie bottom of the Brasileirão and 12 points off safety.
Goalscorer Ricardo Bueno told reporters after the match: “We have to keep our feet on the ground and keep working. It gives a relief, especlally because of a win against a skilled team like Inter.”
There are now eight games left to play in the Brasileirão campaign and Atlético’s next fixture is against São Paulo on Friday.
