Flu coach Abel Braga: Deco suspension come at a good time

Fluminense captain Fred could be recalled for the Seleção in November

The 20-year-old has put in some fine performances for Fluminense this season, which has helped the club take a nine-point lead at the top of the Brasileirão.

Wellington Nem, who has made 22 appearances this term, has formed a strong partnership with the league’s leading goal scorer Fred in recent months.

Marcelo Teixeira believes the young Brazilian has a great and prosperous future ahead of him, whether he is at Fluminense or one of the many clubs reportedly keeping tabs on him, such as Premier League giants Arsenal.

He said: “Wellington Nem will be one of the great stars of world football, no doubt.

“He is a young boy who is very attached to the club.

“He really loves this club and deserves everything that happens to him now.”

Fluminense face Ponte Preta at the Engenhão tomorrow evening, where Wellington Nem will be looking to add to his four goals.
