Reports in France suggest that Paris Saint-Germain winger Nenê has is eye a return to Brazil once his contract expires in 2013 and has set his sights on 2012 Copa Libertadores winners Corinthians.

Speaking to Mercato365.fr, the 31-year-old revealed he already had contact with the club. He said: “I spoke several times with representatives of Corinthians and it gave me a real desire to return to my country to compete in the World Cup, including Club World Cup in Japan later this year.

“My children, who live in Jundiai (Suburb of São Paulo), even asked me to go to Parque Sao Jorge (the old stadium of Corinthians). But I still have a year left on my contract with PSG and this decision does not only depend on me.”

Having made their first approach a few weeks ago, the current Brasileirão champions are continuing to monitor the player and the rumours are that the deal on the table is for 2 seasons, with a significant salary increase.

However, the deal could be complicated by news that Nenê’s former club Santos are interested in taking the player back to his homeland.

Nenê’s decision to move back to Brazil would also be fuelled by a desire to make the Seleção squad for the 2014 World Cup.

The Brazilian winger is unlikely to be without lucrative alternatives as clubs from Turkey, China and Qatar have all expressed an interest.

Nenê’s PSG team-mate Diego Lugano could also return to Brazil as Grêmio are interested in signing the defender.
