He only arrived in England in August, but Chelsea midfielder Oscar believes he has already “grown-up” in his time at the West London club.

Oscar, 21, has been widely praised for his contributions since arriving at Chelsea, forcing his way into the starting eleven and staying there, including a glorious brace against Italian side Juventus on his full debut.

The former Internacional youngster admits that, while he is still acclimatising to life in England, his adaptation to the English game has, so far, been quicker than expected.

Oscar told a Brazil press-conference: “I did not expect it to be so fast. Of course I’m still in a period of adaptation. But Chelsea is a great club with great players. My teammates are helping me a lot in the process.

“I’ve grown up a lot in recent games because they are teaching me. The team also helped me take the first step in English football. Hopefully everything continues well. Chelsea has added good things for me.”

The young playmaker is with the Seleção squad preparing for two upcoming international friendlies, with Brazil taking on Iraq in Sweden on Thursday evening, before meeting Japan in Wroclaw next Tuesday.
