Kaká delight at 'starting again' with Brazil
Kaká, now 30, has struggled for a sustained run of football in recent times and, despite featuring only intermittently for Madrid this year, believes he is on the path to recovery.
"Can you imagine a fresh start after what I have been through? Injuries and surgery, without knowing how in what circumstances I would return," Kaká explained to journalists.
"It has been two years and a few months without a call-up, thus I see it as starting again. It's like my first call-up.
"I always had thoughts of returning, but I knew he [Mano Menezes] had to respect that for a time I was not playing regularly due to injuries. But, slowly things are happening. I am very happy to be back, there is a lot to do and win. We will do it one step at a time."
It will be the first time Kaká will have featured alongside Brazil's younger generation of stars, with the likes of Neymar, Lucas and Oscar only having emerged at international level in the past two years.
Brazil will face Iraq on Thursday in Sweden, before taking on Japan in Poland next Tuesday.
