Bonera defends Robinho over fan 'snub'

AC Milan defender Daniele Bonera has defended team-mate Robinho over criticism that he did not greet the travelling support at the end of the side's 1-1 draw with Parma.
The match was Milan's fifth failure to win in seven league games this season and whilst his team-mates saluted the travelling support at the end of the encounter, Robinho headed for the changing-rooms.
Whilst Bonera had tried to convince the Brazilian to remain on the pitch, he does not believe that the issue is worthy of the controversy it has provoked:
"I am amazed there is controversy over this," Bonera told the Milan Channel. "Robinho was a little irritated at the end of the game and was upset at the result, so he went straight into the locker room. That is all that happened. There was no argument with him.
"We played well but didn't finish off our chances and remain a little inconsistent. At least it was a positive performance to lead us into Zenit and the derby."
The Rossoneri must now focus on a crucial Champions League encounter with Zenit St-Petersburg this Wednesday in Russia.
