Romulo suffers knee ligament damage, out for six months
Rômulo, 21, moved to Russia only this summer, but will be out for approximately six months after an impressive start to life in the country, including scoring a Champions League goal against Barcelona.
The injury is a major blow for Brazil ahead of the Confederations Cup 2013, with Rômulo and Sandro having formed a steady midfield partnership for Brazil in recent times, including the Olympic Games.
"It's the first time I have suffered a serious injury," Rômulo told Globo Esporte.
"It was in the second-half, from a corner near the end of the game. I jumped and, when I landed, an opponent fell on my knee.
"I was very upset. I was confident of a run in the Champions League. As well as missing out on that, I will also miss a number of Brazil games in this period."
