Emerson Leão has sensationaly quit São Paulo FC’s coach. The former Brazilian goalkeeper confirmed that he had accepted Japanese Vissel Kobé’s club in Japan’s first division.

After his success on the regional scene, the Paulista League, São Paulo’s Directors counted on Leão to continue their excellent Copa Liberdatores form.

But the lure of the Japanese yen seems to have attracted him.

Coach of São Paulo since September 2004, the former national team coach gave confidence to his team and he acknowledge’s that he is leaving behind one of the best club in South America.
