AC Milan attacking pair Robinho and Alexandre Pato are both close to a return to first-team action, according to manager Massimiliano Allegri.

Robinho picked up an injury on the opening day of the Serie A season, while Pato sustained an adductor muscle tear at the end of August.

But Allegri is quoted by ANSA as saying that Robinho could be fit for Wednesday’s clash with Cagliari, while Pato may return against Inter on October 7.

“Robinho should be fit for Cagliari, while I hope Pato returns in time for the derby,” said the 45-year-old.

Both players have been rumoured to be on the way out of the San Siro recently, with Pato almost joining Paris St Germain in the summer and Robinho a target for Santos.
