David Luiz and Petr Cech have praised the impact of Oscar after the young Brazilian scored twice in Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Juventus.

The 21-year-old made his first start for the Blues and gave them a 2-0 lead with two first-half goals before Arturo Vidal and Fabio Quagliarella pulled the opposition level.

Oscar has been used sparingly so far since his £25 million summer move from Internacional, but his teammates feel he can become a key player in the side.

“I think he has a great future,” Luiz said after the game. “Not only with Chelsea but with the national team too. Tonight he showed who is Oscar.

“I know how hard it is when you don’t speak the language, but now I’m trying to help Oscar and he can help Chelsea too.”

Goalkeeper Cech was similarly impressed, and added: “He’s a very talented guy and it’s great for him to score two goals.

“For his age, he cost a lot of money, so there is a lot of pressure on him. It’s great for people to see how good he can be for this football club.

“I was very pleased that he got his goals and he played very good football. He played nice, simple football. He’s always available and very efficient.”
