Corinthians 3-1 Grêmio
Grêmio wasted a chance to close the gap on the Campeonato Brasileiro leaders Fluminense after suffering a 3-1 defeat against Corinthians.
The Copa Libertadores winners established a two-goal lead after just ten minutes of play at the Pacaembu thanks to goals from Ralf and Gilherme, but Leonardo pulled one back for Gremio twelve minutes after the break.
In the 90th minute, though, Giovanni scored a beauty to ensure Corinthians took all three points off their third-placed opponents.
Coritiba 3-0 Flamengo
Marquinhos dos Santos enjoyed a comfortable 3-0 win over Flamengo in his first game in charge of Coritiba.
The hosts took the lead in the 16th minute through Lincoln, who beat the offside trap before slotting the ball past the helpless Felipe in goal.
Lincoln then turned provider just before the hour mark, dispossessing Welinton before playing through Rafinha, who finished easily from inside the box.
Everton Ribeiro was the man who put the game to bed in the 71st minute after being played in by former Flamengo striker Deivid.
Ponte Preta 2-2 Figueirense
Nineteenth-placed Figueirense now sit three points off the bottom of the table after drawing 2-2 with Ponte Preta in Campinas.
Giancarlo gave the home side the lead in the 8th minute, before Aloisio equalised six minutes later.
Seconds before Figueirense got themselves in front thanks to Caio, but the young forward's goal was cancelled by Marcinho's converted header twelve minutes before the final whistle.
