Brazil captain Thiago Silva ruled out of friendlies with thigh injury - report

Brazil captain Thiago Silva has been ruled out of the Seleção’s upcoming friendlies against South Africa and China with a thigh injury.
The 27-year-old has failed to recover from a right quadriceps strain he suffered during Brazil's 3-0 victory over Sweden in Stockholm last month, Brazil's Football Confederation (CBF) confirmed.
A magnetic resonance examination revealed that the defender will be out for two weeks, meaning he will have to sit out of Brazil’s games on September 7 and 10.
Thiago Silva is yet to make his debut for new club Paris Saint-Germain following his €42 million transfer from AC Milan this summer, which made him one of the most expensive defenders in the world.
Silva "arrived injured" at the club according to coach Carlo Ancelotti, following his participation in the Olympics with Brazil, where the skipper ultimately earned a silver medal.
