Former Tottenham loanee Bruno Uvini joins Napoli from São Paulo

Bruno Uvini has joined Italian Serie A side Napoli from São Paulo for an undisclosed fee.

The 21-year-old defender, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Tottenham Hotspur, joined up with his new Azzurri team-mates on Thursday after putting pen to paper on a contract which will keep at the Stadio San Paolo until 2017.

''It is a move which had been in the pipeline for a while,'' Uvini told São Paulo's official website.

''It's a good deal for the club and for me. It's not easy to leave São Paulo because the club has been like my family but whenever I can I will come back to visit them.''

Uvini was a member of Brazil's silver-medal winning Olympic squad at the London Games.
