Coritiba announce sale of defender Lucas Mendes to Olympique Marseille

Coritiba have announced the sale of defender Lucas Mendes to Olympique Marseille for an undisclosed fee.
The 22-year-old is a product of the Coxa youth system and has won two Paranaense state championships with the Alviverde.
The Ligue 1 outfit revealed the transfer on their official website, but no financial details have been released as of yet.
Lucas said: "It is a moment that every athlete hopes for, but it hurts the heart.
"Of course I want to go overseas, to play in a competitive league and with great stars, but I have spent much of my life here, with Coxa, a club that I always supported and really respected."
Lucas played 139 games for Coritiba, who will retain a 10 per cent sell on clause, over the course of four years.
The left-back is expected to sign a four-year contract at Stade Velodrome and his arrival will be warmly welcomed by coach Elie Baup, who was in dire need of a defender after seeing some of his key players leave this season.
