Ricardo Gomes has revealed that he will resume managing Vasco in 2013.
Gomes suffered a stroke during the Cruz de Malta’s Campeonato Brasileiro match against arch-rivals Flamengo last August.
Since the 47-year-old’s health scare, his assistant coach Cristovao Borges has been in charge of the Vasco first team.
”Everything is going wonderfully well,” Gomes told Globo Esporte before a physiotherapy session on Tuesday. ”This year I will not return to management, but next year I hope to be back out on that touchline.”
Vasco currently occupy fourth place in the Campeonato Brasileiro, eight points behind leaders Atlético Mineiro.
