Corinthians 1-2 São Paulo
In the Clássico Majestoso, Luis Fabiano scored twice to help São Paulo defeat their local rivals Corinthians.
The first of the former Sevilla striker's goals came in the 23rd minute after Emerson Sheik had given Corinthians a very early lead at the Pacaembu.
On the hour mark, Jadson played through Fabiano, who went on to round Timão goalkeeper Cássio before finishing off what proved to be the winner much to the delight of the São Paulo faithful.
Internacional 0-1 Grêmio
Grêmio have moved up to third in the Campeonato Brasileiro after defeating their arch-rivals Internacional at the Beira-Rio.
The game only saw one goal which was scored by former Manchester City midfielder Elano, who found the back of the net in the 7th minute after Juan had accidently headed the ball into his path on the edge of the box.
Flamengo 0-0 Botafogo
Carioca rivals Flamengo and Botafogo played out a goalless draw at the Engenhão.
The result means the Rubro-Negro remain in ninth position, while the Alvinegro continue to occupy seventh place.
Figueirense 3-1 Coritiba
Figueirense still remain bottom of the table despite running beat Coritiba 3-1 at home
The Santa Caterina found themselves 2-0 up after 26 minutes of play thanks to goals from Aloisio, before Anderson Aquino pulled one back for Coritiba just after the half-hour mark.
However, seven minutes into the second-half Aloisio grabbed his hat-trick to put the game to bed.
Cruzeiro 2-2 Atlético Mineiro
In the Mineiro derby, Cruzeiro and Atlético-MG played out a highly entertaining 2-2 draw at the Estádio Independencia.
It was the Raposa who took the lead in the 16th minute thanks to Wallyson, who turned in Everton's delightful cross, but Atlético got themselves back on level terms on the stroke of half time through Leonardo Silva's half volley
Just before the hour mark, a confrontation between Bernard and Leandro Guerreiro resulted in them both getting sent off, and Pierre later followed the pair to the dressing room for a late challenge on Walter Montillo.
Despite Atlético having to play out the last few minutes with only nine men, Cuca's side thought they snatched the victory when Ronaldinho ran half the length of the pitch with the ball before cooly finishing past Fábio.
However, in the 11th minute of stoppage time, the Cruzeiro faithful were up on their feet celebrating after Mateus guided in Montillo’s cross at the near post.
Sport Recife 0-0 Náutico
In the Recife derby, Sport and Náutico shared the spoils after playing out a goalless draw at the Ilho do Retiro.
The result means Sport remain second from bottom, while Náutico stay in eleventh position.
Bahia 1-1 Atlético Goianiense
Bahia have climbed up to sixteenth, one position above the relegation zone, after drawing with eighteenth placed Atlético Goianiense in Salvador.
Fabinho gave the Tricolor the lead in the 8th minute, before Diogo Campos headed in the equaliser eight minutes before the final whistle.
