Maicon omitted from Inter squad amid interest from Manchester City, Real Madrid and Chelsea

Inter head coach Andrea Stramaccioni has omitted Maicon from his squad to face Pescara this weekend as the full-back appears to be leaving the Nerazzurri.
The 31-year-old did feature in Inter’s Europa League win over Vaslui on Thursday, but his exclusion from the squad for Sunday's Serie A opener suggests a summer move could be on the horizon after months of speculation.
Maicon is continually being linked with a move away from Italy, with three clubs said to be leading the chase for his signature.
Roberto Calenda, Maicon’s agent, said: "There is interest from Manchester City, Real Madrid and Chelsea in the player - there is no possibility of him going to Milan or Juventus.
"He has honoured the shirt of Inter for six seasons and has too much respect for the fans to betray them in that way. He may even stay at Inter."
Stramaccioni recently told Sky Italia that “something will certainly happen before August 31” concerning the future of the experienced defender.
The 36-year-old said: "In my view, Maicon is the best in the world, but obviously there are different evaluations to be made, as there is more than just fondness or monetary value.
"All of Inter cares about the Brazilian, as he is a fantastic lad. We'll have to see what happens. This Inter side does need to be completed, that is beyond doubt.
Maicon has made more than 170 appearances for the Giuseppe Meazza outfit since signing for them in 2006 from AS Monaco.
