Pato to miss start of season due to injury

AC Milan forward Alexandre Pato is very likely to miss Sunday's Serie A opener against Sampdoria due to injury.
The 22-year-old, who helped Brazil win silver at the Olympic Games earlier this summer, complained of feeling pain on his left abductor during a training session with the Rossoneri on Wednesday.
Milan released a statement on their official website on Wednesday which read: ''AC Milan announces that during a game held in today's workout, Alexandre Pato has reported a problem with his left adductor.
''In the coming days further medical examinations will be made to determine the extent of the damage.''
Pato has struggled with a series of injury problems in recent times and was restricted to just 11 Serie A appearances for Milan last season.
