Atlético Mineiro 3-2 Botafogo
Atletico Mineiro have moved three points clear at the top of the Campeonato Brasileiro after snatching a dramatic 3-2 win at home against Botafogo.
The Galo, who have lead the championship for the majority of the campaign, found themselves a goal behind in the 36th minute when Andrezinho slotted home Leonardo Silva's misplaced clearance.
But on the stroke of half time, Escudero got Atlético back on level terms, before former Manchester City striker Jo made it 2-1 to the hosts in the 53rd minute.
Andrezinho, though, netted his second of the game for Botafogo 10 minutes before time, but the ex-Internacional's brace counted for nothing as Neto Berola clipped the ball past goalkeeper Jefferson to win the game for Atlético.
Santos 3-2 Corinthians
Andre scored twice to help Santos beat their local rivals Corinthians 3-2 in a thrilling contest at the Vila Belmiro.
Danilo had given the visitors the lead in the 28th minute, before Andre levelled the score seven minutes later.
Straight after half-time, the former Atlético Mineiro forward found the target again, but his strike was cancelled out in the 80th minute by Juan Martinez' classy solo effort.
However, with seven minutes remaining on the clock, Bruno Rodrigo rose highest in the box to head home Neymar’s corner, much to the delight of the Santos fans.
Corinthians were unable to grab a late equaliser, and as a result, they now lie in tenth place in the Brasileirão, while Santos occupy eleventh position.
Grêmio 4-0 Figueirense
After losing to Portuguesa on Wednesday, Grêmio got back to winning ways as they thrashed basement boys Figueirense in Porte Alegre.
Former Manchester City midfielder Elano opened the scoring for the Tricolor Gaucho in the 35th minute, before Leandro made it 2-0 five minutes before half-time.
Four minutes after the interval, Leandro found the target again, and André Lima ensured victory for Grêmio a minute before the end of the game.
Coritiba 4-0 Cruzeiro
After going five games without a win, Coritiba finally gave their fans something to cheer about after they thrashed Cruzeiro 4-0 at home.
The Coxa's goals came from Lucas Mendes (19'), Ayrton (37'), Roberto (48') and Anderson Aquino (78').
Flamengo 1-0 Vasco
Flamengo ran out 1-0 winners against their local rivals Vasco da Gama at the Engenhão thanks to Vagner Love's goal in the 37th minute.
The result moves the Rubro-Negro up to ninth, while Vasco remain in third, seven points behind leaders Atlético Mineiro.
Portuguesa 1-1 Internacional
Portuguesa managed to snatch a point when they took on Internacional in São Paulo.
Former Roma defender Juan headed Inter into the lead in the 74th minute, before Marcelo Cordeiro netted the equaliser from the penalty in the 81st minute after Indio brought down Diego Viana inside the box.
The result moves Portuguesa down two places to thirteenth, while Inter remain in fifth.
Atlético Goianiense 2-1 Palmeiras
Atlético Goianiense have now gone four games without losing after defeating Copa do Brasil champions Palmeiras 2-1 at home.
Eron fired the Goiania side into the lead in the 19th mintute, before goal scoring machine Hernan Barcos equalised six minutes later.
With 10 minutes remaining on the clock, Rayllan netted the winner for Atlético-GO, who now sit in eighteenth place in the Brasileirao.
