Marquinhos set for Roma switch - reports

Promising Corinthians centre-back Marquinhos is set to move to Roma on an initial one-year loan deal, according to reports in Brazil.
Marquinhos, 18, was one of the stars of Corinthians' triumphant Copa São Paulo side in January and has gone on to establish himself as an important first-team squad member for the Timão.
A composed defender, Marquinhos first sprang to widespread attention in July 2011 when he was chosen to captain Brazil Under 17 at the World Cup in Mexico.
He will now join former Corinthians team-mates Leandro Castan and Dodô at the Stadio Olimpico, with the defensive duo already having signed for the Giallorossi this summer.
The proposed deal is believed to consist of a one year loan contract, which will contain the option to buy the player outright for a fee of €5-6 million.
The move continues Roma's change in policy, with the Italian giants looking to the future with recent purchases and an increased Brazilian presence in the club's dressing room.
Despite his tender age, Marquinhos was part of Brazil's planning for the Olympic Games, eventually spending the tournament on standby in case defensive cover was required.
