Santos president: Neymar is Superman

Santos president Luis Alvaro Riberio has compared Neymar to the comic book superhero Superman, after the talented forward played in matches for his club and country on consecutive days.

The 20-year-old rushed back to Brazil straight after he helped the Seleção beat Sweden 3-0 on Wednesday, so that he could play in Santos' Brasileirão fixture against Figueirense the following day.

Neymar scored a sensational goal and set up Paulo Henrique Ganso as the Peixe secured an important 3-1 win in Santa Catarina. And his commitment and performance has not gone unnoticed by Ribeiro.

The Santos chief told Globo Esporte: ''I suspect that his father came from Krypton and brought the boy [Neymar] to Earth in a rocket, because the only thing that makes sense is if he is Superman.''
